LESLIE (LES) LOEWEN Passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2002 at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit, aged 68. He is survived by his wife Margaret (nee Derksen), son Gord, grandchildren, Nicholas, Brenden, and Madison; and their mother Saneeta; three sisters, six brothers, one foster sister, and two sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Les was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and one brother-in-law. Employed as a proofreader with Sanford Evans for 26 years, until 1991. He volunteered with C.N.I.B. and Deer Lodge Centre. He was a member of Manitoba Christian Writers Association and had several of his articles published. Les was devoted to his Saviour, family and church (St. James Gospel Chapel). Singing was very important to him - his deep low bass was always enjoyed and appreciated in quartets and congregational singing. Funeral service will be Friday, November 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Dr., Winnipeg. Interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing at Klassen Funeral Chapel, Thursday, November 21 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., 1897 Henderson Hwy. and at the church prior to service. Memorial donations may be made to Faith Bible Camp.
